GOLDIC® Therapy - treatment in orthopaedics and sports injuries, treatment video

GOLDIC® therapy involves treatments using gold-induced cytokines. This clinically proven therapy aims to aid in tissue regeneration including muscle injuries, tendon and ligament injuries, after arthroscopic joint reconstructions, cartilage defects, and wound healing disorders.

The modern therapy stimulates the patient's body for strong tissue regeneration. In addition to its regenerative effects, the therapy has anti-inflammatory properties and significantly reduces or eliminates pain symptoms. GOLDIC® involves treatments using CYTOKINES, small proteins responsible for signalling in the body's cells, and also regulating growth and differentiation.

Why GOLDIC®? The role of gold in medicine

GOLDIC® is otherwise known as Gold-Induced Cytokine. Gold is a chemical element known and valued in medicine for many years.

The healing properties of gold have been confirmed in Swedish and American studies. "Aurum metallicum", the "metal of the Sun", gold is one of the oldest remedies in human history. In small doses, it exhibits a regulatory effect on the human immune system. The effect of gold has been well-documented in rheumatology. However, besides its beneficial therapeutic effects, gold often induces serious side effects in the body.

Although the properties of colloidal gold have been studied for over a century, its use as intracellular factors in living cells was discovered only a few years ago. Essentially, these studies reinforced the fundamental concept underlying the technology, whereby composition, surface structure, size, porosity, and shape are crucial for material properties, translating into exceptional interaction capabilities with cells.

The innovative GOLDIC® technology allows contact of blood cells with gold particles OUTSIDE THE ORGANISM. The patented system has been designed to prevent gold particles from entering the body. Thus, the patient receives a concentrated, therapeutic serum that has been separated from gold particles through a specially designed filter. Years of research into this method have confirmed a successful tissue response in patients' blood with specially designed gold particles. This particular form of personalized medicine has been clinically validated and ensures the safety and remarkable effectiveness of therapy.

What is GOLDIC® therapy?

GOLDIC® is a modern therapy aimed at stimulating the body's own strength to robustly regenerate tissues. Regenerative medicine allows for the development of therapies that offer great hope for individuals suffering from serious, often incurable diseases. GOLDIC® therapy aids in musculoskeletal disorders, comprehensive wound healing, and orthopaedic injuries. The treatments provide anti-inflammatory effects, reduce patient-perceived pain, and activate autologous stem cells to aid in restoring functionality.

Indications for GOLDIC® therapy

The indications for GOLDIC® therapy include conditions such as:

  • tendon inflammations
  • bone and joint inflammations
  • wound healing processes
  • muscle injuries
  • orthopaedic injuries
  • sciatica
  • degenerative disc disease
  • treatment of facet joint pain
  • herniated disc
  • enthesopathies (e.g., heel spur)
  • entrapment neuropathies (e.g., carpal tunnel syndrome)
  • Baker's cyst and other types of cysts and ganglia
  • bursitis of the shoulder
  • golfer's / tennis elbow
  • Achilles tendonitis

GOLDIC® therapy in orthopaedics

One of the applications of GOLDIC® therapy is in various orthoapedic and sports medicine conditions. The treatments enhance patients' mobility and enable them to remain active.

One of the most common issues in orthopaedics involves spinal disorders. Back pain in its various forms paralyzes patients and hinders daily functioning and professional activities.

GOLDIC® therapy assists physicians in ensuring optimal and rapid recovery for patients with orthopaedic disorders.

Regenerative medicine offers the opportunity to treat many conditions without surgical intervention. GOLDIC® represents a form of personalized medicine. What does this mean? The treatment process primarily utilizes the body's own cytokines and growth factors in the form of enhanced, concentrated serum.

The efficacy of patented GOLDIC® sets has been proven in numerous clinical studies, particularly in spinal disorders such as those listed below.

Inflammations

LOWER BACK PAIN

The lower back provides support to our spine and is responsible for movements like twisting and bending. The most intense and debilitating pains in this area are usually associated with muscle, ligament, joint, or disc injuries.

Millions of people undergo surgical treatment in the lumbar region. Inflammatory conditions and various diseases in this segment can be so severe that they completely block patients from moving painlessly. However, surgical procedures carry certain risks and require a very long recovery period.

The use of GOLDIC® therapy in this area provides an effective alternative treatment and helps maintain the effect even after surgery. The therapeutic action of gold combined with autologous therapy supports an increase in the levels of proteins that promote self-regeneration. The intrathecal injection procedure at OrtoGo Medical Centre is performed by an orthopaedic specialist. The entire process is guided by ultrasound, allowing the physician to administer the serum precisely where pathologies occur. GOLDIC® injections are a technology that significantly reduces the number of possible complications and leaves no scars.

INTERVERTEBRAL DISC HERNIATION

Intervertebral disc herniation is associated with inflammation occurring when the nucleus pulposus of the intervertebral disc protrudes beyond the intervertebral space, simultaneously compressing nerves or nerve roots. Commonly known as a slipped disc, this condition is characterized by inflammatory state.

The primary goal of treatment is to reduce the pain experienced by the patient and alleviate other symptoms resulting from the herniation. GOLDIC® therapy aids in relieving pain and enables the patient to function normally, making it an excellent alternative to traditional pharmacology. However, each patient's situation requires an individualized treatment plan tailored by an orthopaedic specialist.

DEGENERATIVE INTERVERTEBRAL DISC DISEASE

Degenerative changes involve the wear and tear of the intervertebral disc, often due to the patient's age. It is one of the most common spinal disorders, typically characterized by chronic low-grade pain (though episodes of high-intensity pain can also occur). In this case, GOLDIC® therapy helps in treating inflammatory conditions. The serum, incubated and centrifuged to enhance its therapeutic properties, is injected around nerves, muscles, and ligaments to support regenerative processes for various types of cells.

GOLDIC® therapy – applications

GOLDIC® therapy also serves as an excellent solution for injuries resulting from sports activities. Sports injuries often become a significant burden, halting training for extended periods. Learn more about types and common sports injuries in our dedicated article on the subject.

GOLDIC® medical products assist healthcare providers in treating conditions such as:

  • skier's thumb,
  • tennis elbow,
  • golfer's elbow,
  • runner's knee,
  • jumper's knee,
  • plantar fasciitis,
  • Achilles tendonitis,
  • knee joint inflammation,
  • spinal injuries,
  • painful shoulder syndrome,
  • tendinitis,
  • carpal tunnel syndrome,
  • Baker's cyst.

Intelligent tissue regeneration supports the proper healing process, accelerates it, alleviates pain symptoms, and aids patients in returning quickly to their activities.

What does the GOLDIC® therapy procedure look like?

The procedure can be divided into 4 stages:

STAGE I

Collection of a venous blood sample from the patient - this is done without anticoagulants or any additives. The collection is performed using the patented GOLDIC® kit, which includes designed gold particles and a special filter to prevent these particles from being injected into the final serum.

STAGE II

Material incubation. Tubes filled with gold-induced material and the patient's blood are placed in a laboratory incubator for 24 hours.

STAGE III

Material centrifugation. At this stage, the regenerative serum enriched with designed gold particles is separated from other blood cells. This serum, enriched with growth factors and important cytokines, is then prepared for injection.

STAGE IV

Serum injection. The obtained serum concentrate is administered to the patient. Typically, one treatment consists of four (4) serum injections spaced 3-5 days apart.
