Vascular Surgery Warsaw and Płock
Vascular surgery is a branch of medicine focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, conservative and surgical treatment of vascular and lymphatic diseases. It covers conditions such as chronic venous insufficiency (varicose veins of the lower limbs), lymphatic edema, peripheral arterial disease (lower limb artery atherosclerosis), aortic aneurysms and peripheral artery aneurysms, superficial and deep vein thrombosis, and diabetic foot.
After gathering a detailed medical history and reviewing previous examinations (if available, please bring them to your appointment), the vascular surgeon decides which further tests are necessary to confirm or exclude the initial diagnosis. The most commonly performed test in vascular surgery is the non-invasive Doppler ultrasound. This examination checks whether blood flow in the veins is normal and provides an image of the performance of the examined veins and arteries, enabling the detection of potential arterial narrowing caused by atherosclerosis, venous thromboembolism risk, or other vascular conditions.
